Lockwood qualifies for State for Kemmerer swimmers

The Kemmerer girls swim team competed at the Adam Denton Memorial Invitational in Teton County as they faced squads from Jackson, Lander, Laramie, Natrona County and Sublette County. 

The Lady Rangers placed fourth overall in team points with one of the highlights of the meet going to Kayln Lockwood who qualified for the State meet in the 50-meter freestyle.

The quartet of Ally Bartschi, Charlie Boylen, Logan Rogers and Lockwood placed second in the Medley Relay while Hanna Walker also placed second in her diving event.

Boylen also placed third in the 100-meter breaststroke and Rogers finished third in the 50-meter freestyle.

Fourth place finishes included  Kalyn Lockwood in Diving, Charlie Boylen in the 200 IM, Logan Rogers in the 100 Free, 200 Free Relay of Charlie Boylen, Gabby Bartschi, Logan Rogers and Kalyn Lockwood, and the 400 Free Relay of Payton Scherr, Ally Bartschi, Gabby Bartschi, and Demi Thatcher.

5th-12th Place Finishes: Ally Bartschi in the 100 Backstroke, Kalyn Lockwood in 50 Free, Demi Thatcher and Arya Newell in the 500 Free, Gabby Bartschi in the 50 Free, Payton Scherr and Emileen Dearden in the 100 Backstroke, Gabby Bartschi in Diving, and Demi Thatcher in the 100 Breaststroke.

The team will be at a pair of locations this week with a meet in Pinedale on Thursday, September 25, followed by another on Saturday in Evanston on September 27.
