This month, the heart of Kemmerer is aglow as local businesses come together for the annual Shop Local and Business Decorating Event. Storefronts across downtown are adorned with festive lights, beautifully decorated trees, and imaginative holiday displays, all designed to spread cheer during the shopping season.

Shop Local, Win Local! From November 29 to December 18, residents are invited to participate in an exciting shopping incentive. Simply make a purchase at a local business, write your name and phone number on your receipt, and drop it into Santa’s mailbox, conveniently located in front of the Fossil Basin Cabin. Three lucky winners will be chosen on December 19 to receive gift baskets filled with locally donated items and gift cards.

As part of the festive fun, the local business Christmas Decorating Contest is underway. Voting runs from November 29 to December 24, with two winners set to receive $100 each. One prize will go to the best Nostalgic Christmas theme, while another will recognize the best Modern Christmas theme. Voting will focus on interior decorations only, and the link to participate can be found on the Chamber’s Facebook page.

Residents and visitors are encouraged to stroll through the vibrant downtown area, take in the enchanting decorations, and support the small businesses that contribute to the community’s strength. Families can enjoy a warm cup of hot chocolate while exploring Main Street and choosing local shops for their holiday gifts. Every dollar spent at hometown businesses helps sustain local jobs, supports community initiatives, and fosters a lively downtown atmosphere.
