Julander eyes third title as Lady Rangers head to State

The Kemmerer girls went up against 25 other teams at the West Regional Wrestling Tournament in Powell over the weekend where they placed 8th with 85.5 points. Star Valley won the team race with 208 points followed by Pinedale with 156 and Green River with 146.5.

The Lady Rangers  were just four points behind Evanston in the placings and finishes 6.5 points in front of Kelly Walsh. 

Individually, senior Kaylie Julander won the 140-pound bracket for the regional championship and junior Riley Meyer was on top of the 100-pound bracket. Saige Theule (130) and Ella Kelley (170) also placed and Chrislyn Carlson also qualified for state at 105 pounds. 

Sheridan won the East Regional Tournament with 163 points while Thunder Basin was second with 150. Cheyenne East rounded out the top three with 141.5. 

The Lady Rangers are coming off a third-place finish last season in the single-class State tournament. Julander will be looking to cap off an incredible career for the Lady Rangers after claiming state championships at 140-pounds in both 2024 and 2025. She placed third as a freshman at 145. Meyer was a finalist and all-state finisher at 100 pounds in 2025.
