Location of the Labarge Creek Fire

It has been a very early start to the fire season in the region following record low snowpack over the winter. Southern Lincoln County and other portions of southwest Wyoming are currently under a Red Flag warning through Thursday evening. The forecast continues to call for unseasonably warm temperatures and windy conditions.

On Wednesday afternoon, the Afton Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to an area east of Fairview to extinguish a grass fire. Residents are encouraged to use extreme caution when conducting any spring burns of grass and weeds.
