The Larry Rector Invite belonged to both the boys and girls sides as the Rangers swept the team titles with dominant performances across multiple events.
The Kemmerer girls piled up 199 points to easily outdistance Lyman at 119 points. Farson-Eden finished third with 41 points while Big Piney scored 10.
Kemmererβs depth proved overwhelming as the Rangers collected victories in relays, hurdles, throws and field events. The 4×100-meter relay team of Hadlee Wood, Kalyn Lockwood, Cambree Tolhurst and Charlie Boylen claimed first place in 57.62 seconds, while the Rangers also took second in the medley relay with Claire Crosland, Payton Scherr, Kalyn Lockwood and Riley Meyer clocking a 4:46.
Logan Rogers added another individual title by winning the 400 meters in 1 minute, 9 seconds. Crosland led a strong Kemmerer showing in the 300 hurdles, capturing first in 51.04 while Gabby Bartschi finished second in 1:00.
Addy West placed third in the 200 meters in 31.46 and McKenna Whitbeck took runner-up honors in the 3200 with a time of 15:59.
Kemmerer dominated the field events, especially in the throws. Hadlee Wood swept both throwing events, winning the discus with a toss of 112 feet, 9 inches and the shot put at 31-2. Hanna Walker placed second in both events with marks of 96-0 in discus and 30-5 in shot put. Ally Bartschi added a third-place finish in discus at 85-10.5.
The Rangers also controlled the pole vault as Demi Thatcher cleared 7-0 for first place while Rylee Krell finished second at 6-6.
The Kemmerer boys were just as impressive, rolling to the team championship with 247 points. Lyman was second with 83, followed by Farson-Eden at 76 and Big Piney with 10.
Kemmerer showcased balance throughout the meet with wins in relays, distance races, hurdles and jumps.
The Rangersβ medley relay team of Kane Jimenez, Abram Hartmann, Brent Erickson and Dawson Crosland raced to first place in 4:02. Kemmererβs 4×100 relay team of Wyatt Miller, Marcus Rachael, Sam Thatcher and Abram Hartmann added a second-place finish in 47.18.
Colter Krell and Dawson Crosland finished one-two in the 300 hurdles with Krell winning in 44.80 and Crosland close behind in 44.93. Chase Benson captured the 800-meter title in 2:24.
Kemmerer swept the top three spots in the 3200 meters as Brent Erickson won in 10:55, Bowman Sandall was second in 11:33 and Carlos Schneider finished third in 12:17.
Austin Stringham and Emmanuel Vega placed second and third, respectively, in the 100 meters. Vega also added a second-place finish in the 400 while KJ Walker took third in the 200.
In the field events, Bowman Sandall won the pole vault by clearing 11-0. Kane Jimenez captured the long jump title at 17-0 and added a runner-up finish in the high jump. Eli Jernigan and KJ Walker completed a Kemmerer sweep of the top three spots in the long jump.
Sam Thatcher placed second in the discus with a throw of 130-5Β½, while Abram Hartmann added a third-place finish in the shot put at 36-9.
The Kemmerer squads will be in Shoshoni for the 1A/2A West Regionals this Friday and Saturday with qualifying members of the teams headed to Casper for the 2A State Championships on May 21-23 at Kelly Walsh High School.
