SVI Media hosting candidate forum July 30

SVI Media has scheduled a candidate forum for the morning of Thursday, July 30. The forum will take place live during SVI Radio’s Weekday Wake-Up morning show. There will also be an accompanying live video broadcast at SVInews.com, the SVI Media YouTube channel and the Star Valley Independent Facebook page. The video broadcast will be archived so it can be viewed on-demand at any time.

The SVI Media Candidate Forum will feature local county and state candidates who are running in contested elections. Duke Dance will host the forum, with predetermined questions given to the candidates ahead of time. Candidates will be held to strict time limits of 1-2 minutes per answer in order to cover as many topics as possible.

The schedule for the forum will be as follows:

7:00-7:25 – Lincoln County Sheriff and County Attorney

7:30-7:55 – House District 18

8:00-8:40 – Lincoln County Commissioner

8:45-9:00 – Lincoln County Assessor & Treasurer

As of press deadline, all candidates on the ballot in the races listed above were invited to attend, with all candidates committed to participate.

Candidates participating are as follows:

Lincoln County Sheriff – M. Shane Johnson and Val K. Clement.

Lincoln County Attorney – Carmen L. Patterson and Spencer L. Allred.

House District 18 – Kenneth D. Roberts and Scott Heiner.

Lincoln County Commissioner – Joe Heward, Kay Lynn Nield, Kent Connelly, Jake Long, Jesica Lozier and John Long.

Lincoln County Assessor: Emmett Mavy and Jason Rosas.

Lincoln County Treasurer: Joey K. Antilla and Dawn Marquardt.

To listen live on SVI Radio in Star Valley, tune into Swift 98 or The Spur on 98.7 FM, 107.5 FM, 106.7 FM or 1210 AM. In Kemmerer tune to The Spur at 105.3 FM or 940 AM. The radio broadcast will also be streamed live worldwide at SVInews.com/radio and on the SVI News app.
