Christopher Gravenmier, 31, of Kemmerer was sentenced Wednesday, July 29 in Lincoln County District Court for a total of 60 to 95 years in prison for charges related to kidnapping and sexual abuse of a minor.

District Court Judge Joseph Bluemel sentenced Gravenmier to 25-40 years each for two counts of Sexual Abuse of Minor in the First Degree and 10-15 years for one count of Kidnapping. All three counts were ordered to run consecutive to each other, meaning one sentence must be completed before the next sentence will begin.

“We are very pleased with the results of this case,” said Lincoln County Attorney Spencer Allred. “This was a difficult and complex case that involved numerous different agencies working together to seek justice for a young girl and her family. We can now be certain that Mr. Gravenmier no longer presents a danger to our community.”

When asked if any additional charges could come from Oklahoma, Allred stated that it hasn’t been ruled out.

Allred thanked the Kemmerer Police Department, Sweetwater County Sheriff’s Office, FBI and law enforcement agencies in Oklahoma for their excellent work and dedicated service.

The charges against Gravenmier came after his arrest on April 22 after he kidnapped a 12-year-old girl from Oklahoma and engaged in sexual acts with her multiple times on the way back to Kemmerer and after returning to his home in Kemmerer. He plead no contest to the charges on July 15.
