The post-season begins this weekend for volleyball teams across the state including the Kemmerer Lady Rangers who will be in Lander on Friday to try and extend their 2025 campaign by qualifying for the 2A State Tournament in Casper.
Although there weren’t many wins during a regular season schedule where they went (5-27)(3-3), the Lady Rangers are heading into this weekend with a bit of momentum as they picked up a pair of victories to wrap the regular season. Kemmerer defeated Wind River in a five-set final 3-2 and then won again on Saturday with a 3-1 decision over Wyoming Indian. Both matches were on the Kemmerer court as the Lady Rangers had to fight from behind on both days after dropping the first set.
The wins helped cement Kemmerer’s spot in this week’s tournament as the #2SW seed as they will now face (#3NW) Shoshoni with a 1 p.m. scheduled start time on Friday. A win would push Kemmerer into the semifinals against either (#1NW) Greybull or (#4SW) Wind River later on Friday evening. A loss would drop them into an elimination match against the loser of that same match.
The Lady Rangers are looking to return to the state tournament after a pair of heartbreaking five-set losses in both 2023 and 2024.
