Mark your calendars for April 4: the Fossil Basin Chamber of Commerce is hosting the Easter Hop, a family-friendly, community-centered day of activities designed to bring neighbors downtown for movies, treats, and local shopping.
Where and when
Date: Saturday, April 4
Time: Easter Egg Hop downtown from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.; free movie at 1:00 p.m.
Locations: Triangle Park (Easter Bunny cabin), downtown businesses, and the Victory Theater
The Easter Hop blends kid-focused fun with a shop-local scavenger twist for adults. Kids can visit the Easter Bunny in the rustic cabin at Triangle Park and take pictures. The Bunny will also make rounds through the Triangle and stop by local businesses, spreading holiday cheer.
At 1:00 p.m., the Victory Theater will show the movie Hop free of charge, giving families a relaxed, indoor option during the day’s festivities.
One of the event’s highlights is an adult-oriented Easter egg hunt through participating downtown businesses. Stores will hide Easter eggs containing coupons or giveaways redeemable at other local shops. For example, a shopper could find an egg at Nelson’s containing a voucher for the Opera House, or discover a coupon at a coffee shop that’s good at Tinsky’s. Most downtown merchants are taking part, making this a great opportunity to explore the town, support small businesses and score special offers while the kids enjoy the movie.
Whether you’re bringing the kids to see the Easter Bunny and a free movie or hunting down downtown eggs and local deals, the Easter Hop promises a fun, community-focused way to celebrate the holiday weekend while supporting Fossil Basin businesses.
