(0:00) SBI meeting with Jamie Hanson. She’s an outdoor recreation specialist with the Wyoming outdoor recreation program. It’s (0:07) You’re very busy tonight here in Cameron Diamondville helping bring together a lot of stakeholders to do what Jamie? Yes, sir (0:14) Well, I’m with the Wyoming Office of Outdoor Recreation and we just hosted the second meeting of the Lincoln you went to outdoor recreation collaborative (0:21) This is one of almost 12 collaboratives that we will have across the state with the Wyoming Office of Outdoor Recreation (0:27) What we’re doing is we’re bringing together (0:30) All the stakeholders in outdoor recreation and at Lincoln and you went to counties to discuss challenges and opportunities (0:37) Facing outdoor recreation and and how we can improve after recreation for local communities when you highlighted some of the opportunities (0:44) You did it basically in this two county area (0:47) For example, if we use the Lincoln County area tied in with the Bridger Teton (0:51) we talked about Big Springs and you’re looking for things like that that (0:54) Give us an opportunity beyond the in the outdoors and enjoying what Wyoming has, right? (1:00) Yes, sir (1:00) You know anywhere from infrastructure that improves access or the ability to recreate we’re also talking about maintenance of existing assets and then (1:09) Education and awareness, I think is another bucket of projects that might be a potential for this collaborative (1:14) If you want to get involved with outdoor recreation in your office, how do they do that? Good question (1:20) Um, you can go to (1:20) www.yorec.com (1:24) On that website (1:26) there is a (1:27) Collaboratives tab and if you do so you’ll find the contact for each of the collaboratives because again, this is one of 12 (1:33) We are launching our final collaborative on April 21st (1:37) All over the state all over the state.
So that will be every single County (1:40) Represented by an outdoor recreation collaborative each County and each community will have this service (1:47) Okay, as we wrap it up tell us about the potential that’s out there for Wyoming (1:52) not just in enjoying the outdoors, but (1:55) Business-wise regional business economy is this kind of close that out saying perhaps we’ve missed something over the years Jamie Hanson (2:03) outdoor recreation specialist (2:05) For anyone who hasn’t been paying attention outdoor recreation is one of the leading (2:09) Economic drivers for our state. I think there’s a great potential for outdoor recreation (2:15) And it will only continue to improve our communities and boost our economy (2:18) Thank you, Jamie Hanson Wyoming outdoor recreational specialist at Dandox at our SBI meeting
