Little Greys Fire grows to 39 acres – new fire burning in Green River Lakes

The Little Greys Fire, burning six miles southeast of the McCain Guard Station in the Greys River District of the Bridger-Teton National Forest, grew to 39 acres in size as of Thursday afternoon.

According to the B-Y, firefighters with two engines, a type 1 helicopter and a type 3 helicopter are all on scene working to suppress the fire. A Type 3 Incident Management Team has also be ordered.

The fire was first reported Wednesday afternoon. An official cause remains undetermined.

Meanwhile, a fast moving wildfire was reported Thursday afternoon in the Green River Lakes area of Sublette County. The Dollar Lake fire is estimated at 20-30 acres. Anyone in the area has been advised to evacuate immediately. Forest personnel and Sublette County have responded to the fire with a helicopter on scene. More aviation resources have been ordered. A cause has not been determined.

The fire danger rating remains “Very High” and stage 1 fire restrictions are in effect on the Bridger-Teton.
