Chairman Brandon Taylor and Ryan Lyman with the Lincoln County Fair Board stepped into the SVI Radio studio on Wednesday, May 27 to promote the events and entertainment scheduled for this year’s Lincoln County Fair. Tickets are available now at LincolnCountyFair.info.

(0:00) At 8.46 this morning, weekday wake up on SVI radio heading into our second guest interview (0:04) segment today talking Lincoln County Fair, which is now just a few days over two months away, (0:11) beginning at July 31st at the Lincoln County Fair. Chairman of the board, Brandon Taylor (0:17) in studio, joined with Ryan Lyman on the board who oversees events and entertainment. (0:23) Brandon, Ryan, good morning.

How are you guys doing today? (0:26) Good. Good morning, Duke. (0:27) So does it sneak up on you? I mean, it can’t.

I mean, you’ve been planning this since what, (0:32) what, August of 2026 or 25. Right. And so now here we are two months away.

(0:39) It sneaks up on me every day. (0:42) Love it. Well, appreciate you guys stepping in soon to talk about things.

We got to start with (0:47) Ian Munzik. Again, I think Brandon and you were able to secure Ian and we had you on the air when (0:53) tickets opened up, but if you, if you don’t have your tickets go ahead and get your tickets, right? (0:58) Yeah. We’re, we’re obviously still super excited about the concert.

We’re really encouraged by (1:03) early ticket sales. We’ve sold more tickets today than I’m guessing we’ve ever had at a (1:09) concert in the past. So we’re really excited about that, which means, you know, there is a, (1:14) there is a limited supply.

I’m not going to say that we’re almost sold out. We’re not, but (1:19) there’s a path to that. So we certainly encourage everyone jump on.

And if you’ve been thinking (1:24) about getting tickets, now’s the time to do it. We may have a limited release of some additional (1:29) premium seats in the coming weeks or months. So keep an eye out on that.

We’ll announce on social (1:36) media that, Hey, tomorrow at such and such time, we’ll, we’ll be releasing some more premium seats. (1:41) So keep an eye out for that. If you have been holding out.

(1:44) Perfect. So that’s Friday, July 31st. I will say, even if you don’t have a quote, (1:47) sell out.

There’s only so many bleacher seats. I mean, you can always put people in the arena, (1:54) but if you’re hoping to say, I’m going to just sit in the bleachers, I would really get those (1:57) tickets. Absolutely.

Yeah, that’s right. Perfect. So tickets available right now for Ian Munzik, (2:03) July 31st at the Lincoln County Fair.

Ryan, let’s loop you into this and talk about some of the (2:08) other events leading up new this year is the free family movie night happening on Saturday, August (2:14) 1st. Yeah, Duke, we’re excited about that. We thought we wanted to have an opportunity for (2:20) families just to come out and maybe not have an expensive event, but be able to spend some time (2:27) with the family.

Their vendors will be there and available and whatnot. And so, yeah, bring a (2:31) lawn chair, a blanket, whatever, real similar to what we just heard in your previous interview (2:36) out there in the arena and watch a movie. Perfect.

Now, Saturday is kind of turned into a family day. (2:43) If you will, we’ve always had the parade and that the car show has been around for a number of (2:46) years. But last year, we had the bounce houses and all that stuff.

Is that returning for that (2:51) first Saturday of the fair? We’re actually excited that the carnival is actually going to be nine (2:56) days. So they’ll be starting 5pm that first Friday, the 31st. And then yeah, of course, (3:02) the vendors are there.

And then Saturday, the car show still, the parade is moved to Friday, (3:07) the seventh, I believe it is at 4pm. So that’s, that’s different than we’ve had in past years. (3:14) So the kind of the last second to last day of the fair is when the parade will be there.

(3:19) I believe that’s right. Yep. Okay.

So Duke, you know, two things on that, right? The (3:25) free movie night, we get a lot of feedback that it’s tough to take a family down to the fair, (3:30) right? And it’s tough to buy them dinner and treats and an event. And so we’ve been actively (3:37) trying to say, what can we do to make the fair more affordable for families? And so that’s, (3:42) that’s the direction we went with on the Saturday, free movie night and, (3:48) and the Thursday night rodeo. We have discount tickets for families to go on Thursday night as (3:54) well.

We actively are looking for ways to save money. Of course, our costs continue to rise. (4:00) There’s budgetary restrictions at the county level and all those things that make, (4:04) make this more and more difficult all the time to make it affordable for families.

But (4:08) we want everyone to know we’re trying. And that’s, that’s the, that’s the hope with the (4:13) free movie night and, and with a few of the other things that we have going on. (4:17) Love it.

So that’ll be Saturday night in the arena with the free movie night still to be (4:21) determined on what the movie is. So stay tuned on that. Right, Ryan? Yeah.

Yeah. We don’t want to (4:24) step on, on toes. We want to be a community partner.

So we’ll strategically pick that. (4:29) Perfect. All right.

So it’s been a long time since we’ve had pig wrestling at the fair, (4:34) but it’s a understand it’s back on the Monday, August 3rd. What’s happening with pig wrestling? (4:39) Yeah, it’s, we’re excited also for that. It’s like you said, it’s been, it’s been a long time.

(4:44) It’s been a little, little time in the making to, to figure out a way to make a path so that we (4:50) respect all of the users of, of our facilities. But yeah, it’s, we’re excited for that. It’s (4:58) okay.

Yep. So I have a Calcutta. And so, yeah, it’s, it’s going to be a good, (5:03) good fun evening, I think.

Fantastic. And then of course, that’s on the Monday, August 3rd. And (5:07) then you had the traditional horse pools and freestyle rating on Tuesday, Wednesday, right? (5:11) Yep.

Yep. Excellent. Brandon PRCA rodeos last year was the first year you did three nights of PRCA (5:18) seem like it went well and doing it again this year.

We were a little nervous, you know, adding (5:22) a third night. Would we get the Cowboys? Would we sell enough tickets? And boy, did we do both of (5:28) those things? We had world-class talent. We had multiple NFR, previous NFR Cowboys, multiple (5:35) Cowboys that went to the NFR last year and competed and finished in the top 15 in the world.

(5:41) So we, we, we added a little bit more money to the purse. So we just continue to anticipate (5:47) getting the same, the same number of Cowboys and crowds. We just signed a contract with (5:52) another trick rider and we are excited to have three more great nights of PRCA rodeo.

And (5:59) thank you to the community who supported that last year. We had over 2000 people every single night. (6:05) And we were really excited to do that again.

We have the, the rodeo repeater (6:13) package that gets you in for all three nights at a discount. We have the family night package (6:18) on Thursday night, which gets everyone in for like 12 bucks a person. And then of course we have our (6:25) premium seating as well.

Season tickets are on sale, which gets you into all of these things (6:29) right now. And so, yeah, we’re really, really excited about where we’re headed. I’ll say too, (6:35) about pig wrestling.

We’ve, we’re tracking the same number of tickets sold for pig wrestling as (6:40) the Friday night rodeo right now. So, you know, hopefully that trend continues and we’ll have a (6:46) great, great crowd Monday night, but also get your tickets to pig wrestling, get your tickets to the (6:50) rodeos and, and all of the different events where we’re expecting bigger crowds and bigger events (6:57) than, than ever before. Perfect.

So Lincoln County fair.info, that’s where you can get (7:01) tickets right now, Lincoln County fair.info. And as you mentioned, Brandon, you can get them single (7:05) nights. There’s different bundles, different family packs and everything like that. So (7:09) go check it out at Lincoln County fair.info. Ryan, let’s talk about some of the on the grounds (7:14) entertainment that you have scheduled this year.

Who are you excited to have around the grounds? (7:19) We’re obviously going to have the tap classic. So local, local town, that’s a super popular (7:25) event. And so they’ll be back for sure.

Also have hypnotist, which is always a favorite, a lot of (7:33) a probably more local ish regional talent than in past years. Well, in recent past years, I should (7:42) say. And yeah, so there’s, there’s a, I’m excited about the one man band that’s going to be out on (7:49) the grounds.

He’s, he’s pretty dynamic and pretty fun. Yeah. We’ll have strolling tiny top and big (7:57) top, both, both will be filled with entertainment.

So we have the canine stars from America’s Got (8:02) Talent will be set up on the West end there. So that’s going to be a big show. I believe.

(8:07) Very cool. Excellent. So plenty to see and do at this year’s Lincoln County fair.

(8:11) All that, all that entertainment’s free on the, on the grounds. Yep. Absolutely.

And, (8:15) and as you mentioned, just worth highlighting again, the expanded carnival this year too, (8:19) right? So maybe touch on that again. Yeah. So starting Friday, the first, so July 31st, (8:25) Friday and running all the way through Saturday, Sunday, and then all the next week through, (8:30) like, like we have had, so I think, believe we added three or four days cause it didn’t start (8:34) till Tuesday in recent years.

We effectively doubled the number of days that we were open. (8:40) So we went from four and a half days to nine, nine straight days of carnival. (8:44) And families are going to want to jump on and grab the pre the presale is I believe $10 less (8:50) for day passes.

So jump on those are on sale right now on the website. And so, yeah, you want (8:55) to grab those before that. Once the carnival starts, it’ll be full price.

Perfect. Brandon (8:59) Taylor, Ryan Lyman, Lincoln County fair happening July or beginning July 31st, running through the (9:05) 8th of August details and tickets at Lincoln county fair.info. Anything we missed guys that (9:09) you want to mention today? No, we just appreciate the community support the county support. It (9:15) takes a village of people to make the fair work every year.

And we appreciate all those people (9:20) who come out and support us by buying tickets and going to shows to helping and volunteering (9:25) their time. We’re just excited to be a part of it and excited for another great fair. Perfect.
