Kemmerer High School celebrated the Class of 2026 this past Saturday with commencement exercises.
“It was a nice afternoon for it, we had 36 graduates walk and 37 total,” said Principal Shawn Rogers. “Angela Stewart was our keynote speaker, a longtime teacher who the kids asked to speak. Her main message was not to worry so much about what you are going to do after school, but more importantly why you are doing it.”
Amanda Aimone was honored as the Teacher of the Year and gave advice to to not just go the extra mile in your own life, but in the lives of others.
Rogers also commented on what stood out to him for this particular crop of Kemmerer graduates.
“We had a couple of really high ACT scores and some of our girls have been some of the best leaders that we’ve had,” he noted. “They were positive go-getters and had really good leadership.”
Rogers also had the experience of seeing a crop of kids grow through the Kemmerer system.
“I had these kids as first graders when I was an elementary principal so it’s been fun to see them grow, they will go far and do great things.”
