CHEYENNE (WNE) — Gov. Mark Gordon was in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday meeting with federal officials, Western governors and members of Congress to discuss the future of the Colorado River Basin and the long-term management of critical water resources, including Flaming Gorge Reservoir.

“As a headwaters state, Wyoming is committed to bringing real solutions to the table,” Gordon said in a news release. “We remain focused on a seven-state approach that recognizes the realities of a prolonged drought while protecting critical tools like Flaming Gorge for future generations. Wyoming is not interested in simply reacting to challenges; we intend to help lead the discussion.”

Gordon continues to advocate for collaborative, science-based solutions that protect the Colorado River system while protecting and respecting the rights and interests of Upper Basin states, the release said.
