Dr. Kevin Stucki, Orthopedic Surgeon for Star Valley Health, stepped into the SVI Radio studio to promote the plans to build a new orthopedic clinic in Diamondville.

(0:00) Weekday wake up on the SVI radio network and Star Valley Health orthopedic surgeon Dr. Kevin Stuckey (0:06) in studio with me today. Dr. Stuckey, always a pleasure. Thanks for stopping by.
Good morning, (0:10) Duke. It’s good to be with you. Absolutely.
So let’s talk orthopedic surgery within Star Valley (0:16) Health. For those who aren’t familiar with you and what your work is, give us a quick background (0:21) check on who you are and what you do. Okay.
I’ve been in the Valley for over nine years now. (0:28) I’m a practicing orthopedic surgeon and specialize in hand and upper extremity surgery. (0:34) As part of that, as the community sort of knows, is that we sort of outreach because there’s not (0:41) enough work in just the Direct Valley.
So we do a lot of work in Alpine and Evanston and (0:47) Kemmer and Bridger Valley, and we’re starting to probably move into Pinedale, but we go a lot (0:52) of different places. So we’ve been working in all of those places as long as I’ve been here. (0:58) Excited to offer that care to those patients.
Absolutely. And when orthopedic surgery, (1:03) how would you explain what that is? It’s a musculoskeletal surgeon. So anything that (1:09) deals with the bones, the joints, the muscles, tendons, ligaments, nerves, all of that stuff (1:17) is really within our realm.
Excellent. And you’re a humble guy, so you won’t say this, but you’re (1:22) really, really good at it, right? I’d like to think so, but yeah, I probably wouldn’t (1:28) tout that, but I feel like I do a good job. Absolutely.
Dr. Kevin Stuckey in studio this (1:33) morning. Now you mentioned you offer these services around the region quite a bit. One (1:37) of those markets has been Southern Lincoln County and Kemmer Diamondville, and you’ve been there for (1:41) a number of years.
How long have you been offering services in Southern Lincoln? Well, they’ve been (1:46) there since before I came nine years ago. So Dr. Tallarico was there for, I don’t know how many (1:51) years before I came to the Valley, but after Dr. Tallarico left, I kind of took over the main (1:57) clinical portion and surgical portions there. And we had been until recently leasing space from the (2:05) hospital and that lease came up and we decided to make a change and create a new clinic there, (2:13) which we’re going to be building in Diamondville.
So come sometime in September, we’re hoping we’ll (2:20) be able to open a brand new clinic in the Diamondville area and continue to offer care to (2:26) those patients. In the meantime, we’re still seeing patients from that area in Bridger Valley (2:32) and Evanston. Excellent.
So this is, it’s not a stoppage in service or anything like just a change (2:39) in location, right? And it sounds like a new clinic will be opened up. Yeah, we didn’t go (2:44) anywhere. We want the people in the community to know that we’re still around.
We just hadn’t been (2:50) able to find a secure, good location for our clinic after we left the hospital lease and we (2:58) decided to build. So we’re just taking that time. Everybody knows that takes a little bit of time (3:02) to do.
And so we’re just taking a minute to make sure that we do it right and still take care of (3:08) these people. So in the meantime, you’re still in Bridger Valley, you’re still in Star Valley. (3:12) And so people from the Kemmerer Diamondville area can find you in one of those locations.
(3:15) And when this clinic is opened and up and running and operational, how many days (3:21) per month do you anticipate being in Kemmerer Diamondville? So Dr. Brian McClure will be there (3:27) with us. So we’ll be actually doing several specialties there in addition to just orthopedics. (3:34) And I expect that orthopedic wise, we’ll be there once a week.
I’m not sure on Dr. McClure, (3:44) how often he’ll be there, but I think he’s offering twice a month right now. So, (3:49) you know, we hope to be there at least that much and maybe more. (3:55) You mentioned Dr. McClure, anyone else joining you or just the two of you? (3:57) Right now, Dr. McClure and myself, and then we have a couple of PAs that go there.
And so we (4:03) also are, I’ll say this, we’ve even talked about providing an urgent care in that area. So that’s (4:11) up and coming as well. I don’t expect that we’ll have that in September, but I think down the road (4:15) we’ll be able to provide urgent care services and maybe even some family practice type care (4:23) in that area.
So it’s exciting. We hope that we can expand that footprint and continue to keep (4:30) what we have. You mentioned it’s going to be located in Diamondville.
Do you have an exact (4:33) location of where it might be? Yeah, it’s right on the corner. It’s really in a great spot. As (4:38) you come off the highway there, it just T-bones right into the clinic.
It’s the old dealership (4:45) there. The car dealership sold us the lot across the street. So it’s really great location and (4:51) centralized and good for people that are traveling.
Dr. Kevin Stuckey, Star Valley (4:55) Health orthopedic surgeon in the studio today for the weekday wake up. Dr. Stuckey, if someone (5:00) wants to schedule an appointment with you, whether it be in Afton, Alpine, Bridger Valley, or the new (5:05) clinic coming to Diamondville, how would they do that? The number is the same. It’s 307-885-5870.
(5:15) And that number goes directly to our main communications. And if they just say where (5:21) they live, then we’ll plug them into the most appropriate location. Currently, if you live in (5:25) the Diamondville, Kemmer area, they’re going to give you options either in Star Valley, Bridger (5:30) Valley, or Evanston.
Perfect. Dr. Kevin Stuckey this morning, orthopedic surgeon for Star Valley (5:37) Health. Anything we missed that you’d like to mention today? I think that’s that’s enough, (5:41) probably.
Perfect works. That works. Dr. Kevin Stuckey, and again, a new orthopedic clinic (5:46) coming to Kemmer Diamondville through Star Valley Health.
And watch for more details on (5:51) starvalleyhealth.org. And we’ll have more information here on SVI radio as it comes (5:55) closer. Also, it’s all part of the weekday wake up on SVI radio.
